How Earth Was Formed?

Long, long ago, the Earth and other planets were part of the Sun. As many as 4.6 billion years ago little bits of the Sun shot away from it. One of these bits was our mother planet- Earth. To begin with, our Earth was a hot glowing ball of white hot gases with a temperature that was millions of degrees Fahrenheit. Gases started getting compressed, giving off a lot of heat.

Very slowly, Earth started getting contracted and smaller. Gases changed to liquid as they cooled. Heavy materials drew to the centre of the Earth. Heavier liquid settled at the middle of the Earth. After some time, a solid crust formed over the liquid material.

With the passage of time, cracks emerged in the crust. Water escaped from under the Earth’s crust and soon changed into water vapors due to high temperature, covering the planet. This led to cloud formation. The water vapors condensed into large droplets, which were pulled back to Earth by its gravity. Thus, our Mother Earth got its first rain.

It rained heavily. All the hollows of the Earth were filled with water. Thus seas and oceans were formed.
